Seoul: The latest closing figures for the KOSPI 200 index showcase a varied performance among its constituents, with significant gains and losses across different sectors.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the standout performers in the index include SKC and Korea Zinc. SKC closed at 92,500, marking an increase of 1,200, while Korea Zinc saw a substantial rise of 76,000, closing at 900,000. Samsung Electronics Mechanics and LG Innotek also posted notable gains, closing at 174,200 and 171,800, respectively.
On the other hand, Hanmi Science and HD Hyundai Mipo were among the decliners, closing at 39,850 and 198,900, respectively. HDKSOE experienced a decline, closing at 411,000, down by 3,500. Meanwhile, Hanwha Aerospace saw a rise, closing at 941,000, up by 8,000.
The energy sector showed mixed results, with S-Oil advancing to 59,600, while Kumho Petrochem dropped slightly to 106,600. The technology sector reflected similar trends, with Hanwha Vision increasing to 55,700, whereas SK Telecom decreased to 54,400.
Overall, the KOSPI 200 index displayed a mix of upward and downward movements, reflecting the dynamic nature of the market.
