Kia Q3 net profit up 2.1 pct to 2.26 tln won

Kia Corp. on Friday reported its third-quarter net profit of 2.26 trillion won (US$1.6 billion), up 2.1 percent from a year earlier.The company said in a regulatory filing that operating income for the July-September period rose 0.6 percent on-year to 2.88 trillion won. Sales increased 3.8 percent to 26.51 trillion won.The earnings fell short of market expectations. The average estimate of net profit by analysts stood at 2.43 trillion won, according to a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency.Source: Yonhap News Agency
