London: Kia Corp. announced its inaugural participation in the Defense and Security Equipment International (DSEI) 2025, Europe's premier defense exhibition, set to take place in London this week. The event, which occurs every two years, was first launched in 1999 and will feature approximately 1,600 defense companies from around 90 countries over the span of four days.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Kia plans to showcase a special-purpose version of its Tasman pickup truck, engineered to facilitate the safe and efficient transport of troops. Additionally, Kia will display a bare chassis model of the Kia Light Tactical Vehicle (KLTV), which can be customized for different mission requirements, offering ballistic and blast protection as well as electromagnetic shielding.
The KLTV has been in service with South Korea's military since 2016 and has also been deployed across Europe, the Middle East, the Asia-Pacific, and Latin America. Recently, it was chosen as the new standard vehicle for the Polish military. A representative from Kia stated, "With over 50 years of development experience, Kia will continue to build customized special-purpose vehicles that ensure safe troop mobility and present its vision for the future of military mobility."
