KOSPI 200 Market Movements: Gains for HD Hyundai Mipo and Hanwha Aerospace Amidst Declines for LG Innotek and Others

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index displayed mixed performances as several companies experienced gains while others saw declines. Leading the charge in positive movement, Hanwha Aerospace soared to 697,000, up by 34,000, and HD Hyundai Mipo rose to 117,400, marking an increase of 1,700.

According to Yonhap News Agency, other companies that experienced upward trends included DWS, which climbed to 32,600 with an increase of 600, and KEPCO, which saw a modest rise to 21,500, up by 150. Hyundai Elevator also posted gains, increasing by 100 to reach 58,200. Korea Aerospace marked a positive movement with an increase of 2,800, closing at 78,200. Additionally, POSCO DX and KT reported gains, ending the day at 23,850 and 48,700, respectively.

Despite these gains, several companies faced declines. LG Innotek recorded a significant drop, falling by 9,800 to settle at 142,300. LOTTE CHEMICAL Corp decreased by 3,200, closing at 59,800, while HMM saw a reduction of 800 to end at 19,750. Hyundai WIA and Kumho Petrochem also experienced declines, closing at 43,300 and 117,600, respectively.

S-Oil and Samsung Securities faced reductions as well, with S-Oil dropping by 1,200 to 54,800 and Samsung Securities falling by 400 to 45,300. Other companies such as SK Telecom, Kumho Tire, and Hanon Systems experienced declines, ending at 55,700, 4,470, and 3,410, respectively. The technology sector saw Samsung SDS decrease by 100 to 116,800, while LG Display fell by 330 to 8,240.

In summary, the KOSPI 200 index presented a varied performance with notable gains for companies like Hanwha Aerospace and HD Hyundai Mipo, counterbalanced by significant declines in firms such as LG Innotek. The market's mixed outcomes reflect ongoing fluctuations within the economic landscape.
