KOSPI 200 Market Movements Highlight Mixed Outcomes for Major Firms

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index showcased varied performances among its constituents, with companies experiencing both gains and declines in their stock prices. Notably, KorZinc emerged as a significant gainer, while SAMSUNG SDI CO., LTD. saw a substantial drop.

According to Yonhap News Agency, KorZinc led the way with an increase of 12,000, bringing its closing price to 798,000. In contrast, SAMSUNG SDI CO., LTD. experienced a notable decline of 7,600, closing at 176,000. Other companies such as LG Corp. and Shinsegae also recorded gains, with LG Corp. up by 1,100 to reach 66,600, and Shinsegae rising by 3,900 to close at 158,100.

Conversely, several firms faced downturns. POSCO FUTURE M's shares fell by 5,200, closing at 124,900, while CosmoAM and T saw a decrease of 900, ending at 39,350. Nongshim and SGBC also reported declines, with Nongshim down by 2,500 to 403,000, and SGBC decreasing by 1,100 to 68,900.

In terms of gains, SamsungF and MIns reported a significant rise of 5,500, closing at 374,500. Additional increases were noted for companies like HDKSOE and LS ELECTRIC, which rose by 2,500 and 500, closing at 272,000 and 203,500, respectively.

Meanwhile, some companies saw minimal changes. KAL and Hanssem reported increases of 100 each, closing at 20,950 and 42,450, respectively. On the other hand, Hyundai Steel and YoungoneHoldings maintained their previous closing prices, showing no change.

Overall, the KOSPI 200 reflected a mixed market sentiment, with various firms experiencing contrasting fortunes in their stock prices.
