Seoul: The latest figures from the KOSPI 200 index report a mixed performance among major stocks. The index saw varied movements, with some companies experiencing gains while others faced declines.
According to Yonhap News Agency, CJ CheilJedang closed at 242,000, marking an increase of 500. POSCO INTERNATIONAL experienced a decline, closing at 42,750, down by 150. KAL also saw a decrease, with its shares dropping by 300 to close at 22,700. LG Corp. reported a significant decline, closing at 72,700, down by 1,200. On the other hand, KG Mobility witnessed a modest increase, finishing at 3,940, up by 20.
Other notable movements included POSCO FUTURE M, which rose by 3,800 to close at 153,200, and LOTTE Fine Chem, which saw an increase of 150, ending at 39,950. Conversely, Nongshim faced a sharp drop of 14,500, closing at 348,500. The shares of DB INSURANCE and Yuhan also declined significantly, closing at 91,700 and 130,800, down by 8,100 and 6,900 respectively.
Additional increases were observed in SGBC, which rose by 4,100 to 83,900, and COSMOCHEM, which grew by 710 to 19,400. POSCO Holdings ended higher at 259,500, up by 2,500, while Samsung SDI CO.,LTD. showed a robust gain of 7,000 to close at 236,500. SKC also performed well, rising by 7,300 to 158,100.
In contrast, SamsungElec and SamsungElecMech experienced declines, closing at 53,900 and 126,100, down by 200 and 500 respectively. Ottogi and GC Corp faced decreases, closing at 383,000 and 158,900, down by 4,000 and 5,000 respectively. Additionally, GS Retail and Hanssem reported declines, closing at 16,700 and 47,200, down by 200 and 100 respectively.
Despite the fluctuations, some stocks showed resilience, such as HDKSOE, which increased by 1,000 to 236,000, and LS, which rose by 900 to 102,900. HD HYUNDAI HEAVY INDUSTRIES, however, faced a decline of 1,000, closing at 308,500. Hanmi Science and YoungoneHoldings also experienced decreases, closing at 29,250 and 80,100, down by 200 and 800 respectively.
