Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index registered a varied performance in its latest trading session, with several companies experiencing significant fluctuations in their stock prices. Among the key movements, Hyundai Steel saw a decline, closing at 32,450, down by 150 points, while Nongshim recorded a substantial increase, closing at 396,500, up by 12,500 points.
According to Yonhap News Agency, SGBC and LOTTE also experienced upward trends, with SGBC closing at 63,100, a rise of 400 points, and LOTTE finishing at 28,100, an increase of 1,150 points. COSMOCHEM and DB INSURANCE reported gains as well, closing at 17,600 and 131,600, up by 370 and 300 points, respectively.
Meanwhile, SLCORP ended the session on a downward note, closing at 33,550, down by 250 points. In contrast, Yuhan and POSCO Holdings reported notable increases, closing at 116,800 and 306,000, up by 1,800 and 6,000 points, respectively. Samsung Electronics also saw a modest gain, ending at 71,500, up by 100 points.
Other noteworthy performances included KPIC, which surged by 9,400 points to close at 112,500, and GC Corp, which increased by 3,600 points to 134,200. SAMSUNG SDI CO., LTD. and GS Retail also posted gains, closing at 221,500 and 16,500, up by 5,500 and 70 points, respectively.
On the downside, DENTIUM and GKL faced declines, closing at 57,100 and 16,420, down by 800 and 130 points, respectively. Meritz Financial and BNK Financial Group also saw decreases, ending at 128,700 and 14,300, down by 300 and 30 points, respectively.
Overall, the KOSPI 200 index reflected a mixed market sentiment with both upward and downward movements among its constituents, highlighting the volatility and dynamic nature of the stock market.
