KOSPI 200 Records Mixed Performance Amid Market Fluctuations

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index observed a mixture of gains and losses by the close of trading on Monday, as the stock prices of companies listed on the main Korea Stock Exchange presented a varied picture. Key players in the market showed both upward and downward movements in their closing prices, reflecting the dynamic nature of the trading day.

According to Yonhap News Agency, notable increases were observed in the shares of KIA Corp., which rose by 700 KRW to reach 88,000 KRW, and Shinsegae, which climbed by 1,000 KRW to close at 154,900 KRW. TaekwangInd also saw a significant rise, gaining 16,000 KRW to settle at 684,000 KRW. Other companies, such as CJ CheilJedang and DB Insurance, experienced gains of 1,000 KRW and 700 KRW, respectively.

Conversely, several companies faced declines in their stock prices. KCC fell sharply by 5,000 KRW, closing at 237,500 KRW, while SamyangFood saw a decrease of 4,000 KRW, ending at 957,000 KRW. POSCO Holdings and POSCO FUTURE M also experienced declines, with their prices dropping by 2,000 KRW and 2,200 KRW, respectively.

Other stocks such as LG Corp. and Hyundai Steel remained unchanged, indicating a stable position in the market. The performance of these stocks on the KOSPI 200 highlights the fluctuations and varied trends in the stock market at the start of the trading week.
