Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index faced a significant downturn as several major companies reported declines in their closing prices. The decline in stock prices was seen across various industries, affecting notable firms such as Samsung Electronics, POSCO Holdings, and Hyundai Heavy Industries.
According to Yonhap News Agency, COSMOCHEM saw a decrease of 680, closing at 15,620. POSCO Holdings reported a decrease of 6,000, closing at 275,000, while GC Corp saw a decrease of 5,200, closing at 131,700. Similarly, SLCORP closed at 34,550, down by 650, and Yuhan experienced a drop of 3,300, closing at 114,700.
Samsung Electronics reported a decline of 2,800, closing at 83,300. LS experienced a decrease of 3,100, closing at 162,400. HD Hyundai Heavy Industries saw a significant drop of 13,500, closing at 491,500. Additionally, CHONGKUNDANG and ShinhanGroup reported decreases of 2,400 and 600, closing at 79,800 and 69,200, respectively.
Hyundai Rotem faced a decrease of 6,000, closing at 212,500, while LG Electronics saw a decline of 1,600, closing at 76,300. L and F reported a decrease of 4,200, closing at 72,400. HD Hyundai Infracore closed at 15,340, down by 280, and HANMISemi saw a drop of 4,300, closing at 89,800.
KOREA AEROSPACE reported a decrease of 2,400, closing at 107,100. KUMHOTIRE faced a minor decline of 75, closing at 4,750. SAMSUNG SDS experienced a decrease of 3,700, closing at 161,700, while DWEC saw a decrease of 65, closing at 3,565.
Conversely, MIWON SC managed a slight increase of 200, closing at 140,700, and Celltrion saw an increase of 100, closing at 178,000. KDHC also noted a rise of 900, closing at 90,600, and MIRAE ASSET SEC gained 200, closing at 20,600.
Meanwhile, LG H and H reported a decrease of 5,500, closing at 281,000. KEPCO KPS experienced a drop of 1,300, closing at 47,500, and KEPCO E and C saw a decrease of 1,800, closing at 85,000. LGCHEM reported a significant drop of 10,000, closing at 282,500.
Other notable declines were observed in TKG Huchems, JB Financial Group, HYUNDAIDEPTST, DAEWOONG PHARM, KIH, GS, LIG Nex1, Misto Holdings, GS E and C, SAMSUNG SDI CO., LTD., KPIC, and SKC, reflecting the challenging period for the KOSPI 200 as numerous major stocks suffered losses.
