KOSPI 200 Sees Broad Decline with Notable Losses in Aerospace and Technology Sectors

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed a significant downturn with several major companies registering losses in their closing prices.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Hanwha Aerospace faced a notable drop of 38,000, closing at 779,000. HDC Holdings also experienced a decrease, down by 1,000 to 22,050.

The technology sector was not spared as SamsungSecu saw a decline of 2,600 to finish at 69,900, while Samsung SDS dropped by 1,300, ending at 164,200. SK, another prominent name, recorded a substantial decrease of 9,900, closing at 196,600. The aerospace sector also struggled, with Korea Aerospace falling by 4,200 to 84,700.

Other significant declines included Hyundai Elevator, which saw a reduction of 5,700, closing at 78,700, and Doosan, which dropped by 21,000 to 555,000. In contrast, some companies registered gains; KEPCO rose by 1,000, reaching 36,900, and KT increased by 1,200 to finish at 57,700.

Despite the overall negative trend, Kumho Tire and Hanon Systems recorded minor increases, with Kumho Tire up by 25 to 4,920 and Hanon Systems up by 5 to 3,375. Kangwonland also experienced a notable gain, rising by 760 to 19,790, while NCsoft increased by 1,500 to 207,000. These gains, however, were overshadowed by the broader market declines.
