Seoul: The KOSPI 200 experienced notable shifts as several companies recorded significant price changes. The index was marked by gains from major players such as Samsung Electronics and POSCO Holdings.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung Electronics saw a rise, closing at 57,600, up by 2,800. POSCO Holdings also contributed to the upward trend with its shares climbing by 4,500 to reach 263,000. Other companies such as DB Insurance and LS Electric saw increases, with DB Insurance closing at 92,300, up by 2,100, and LS Electric surging by 10,500 to finish at 230,000.
Meanwhile, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries experienced a decrease, dropping by 8,500 to close at 404,500. OTOKI and HDKSOE also faced declines, with OTOKI falling by 5,500 to 397,000 and HDKSOE decreasing by 10,500 to end at 273,000.
Among the gainers, Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. rose by 4,500 to reach 174,900, and SK hynix increased by 4,900, closing at 195,000. In contrast, Hanwha saw a drop of 3,100, ending at 48,900.
The day's trading demonstrated mixed outcomes for various sectors, with significant upward momentum in electronics and manufacturing, while some sectors faced downward pressures.
