Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced varied performances with notable gains and declines among its constituent stocks. Key highlights include HYOSUNG TNC and HYBE closing higher, while BGF Retail and HS HYOSUNG ADVANCED saw significant drops.
According to Yonhap News Agency, HYBE led the upward movement with a significant increase of 2,500, closing at 222,000. SK hynix also reported a notable rise, up 3,200 to close at 198,200. Among other gainers, SKSQUARE rose by 1,000 to finish at 90,700, and COWAY increased by 2,500, reaching 76,200. HANILCMT and SAMSUNG CARD also recorded gains, closing at 15,580 and 40,100, respectively.
Conversely, BGF Retail experienced a substantial decline, dropping by 1,000 to close at 101,800. HS HYOSUNG ADVANCED faced a decrease of 3,200, ending the day at 182,900. KIA CORP. suffered a loss of 3,400, closing at 103,300, while ECOPRO MAT fell by 2,100 to 76,200. Other declines were seen in companies such as SAMSUNG C and T and DL E and C, which closed at 118,200 and 30,350, respectively.
The trading session saw mixed outcomes for other stocks, with SK ie technology decreasing by 800 to 24,700 and SKTelecom down 300, closing at 55,200. Meanwhile, KT and LOTTE SHOPPING managed small gains, closing at 44,400 and 53,900, respectively. The index reflected a range of shifts as investors reacted to ongoing market conditions.
