KOSPI 200 Sees Mixed Movements as Pharmaceutical Stocks Surge

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 witnessed a mixed trading session, with several pharmaceutical companies showing notable increases while other sectors experienced declines. Among the top gainers, Daewoong Pharm saw an increase of 800 points, closing at 136,400, and Hanmi Pharm surged by 8,000 points, closing at 298,000.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the session highlighted a strong performance by healthcare-related stocks, as LIG Nex1 also gained 1,000 points to close at 522,000. Meanwhile, JB Financial Group and Misto Holdings recorded positive movements, increasing by 50 and 550 points, respectively.

Conversely, the day was not favorable for several financial and industrial stocks. KIH dropped 2,600 points to 129,800, and KB Financial Group fell by 2,000 points, ending at 108,300. Hyundai Glovis and Samsung Biologics experienced significant declines, with the former down by 4,100 points to 167,800 and the latter decreasing by 11,000 points to 1,019,000.

The session also saw declines in the energy sector, with SK Innovation and KDHC declining by 600 and 700 points, respectively. In the consumer goods sector, Amorepacific and CJ Logistics both experienced reductions, each down by 600 points.

Despite the mixed results, some companies managed to record gains. Hankook Tire and Technology increased by 750 points, closing at 41,000, while GKL rose by 460 points to 16,880. Hanjin Kal saw an uptick of 1,700 points, closing at 114,900.

Overall, the KOSPI 200 displayed varied performances across different sectors, with healthcare stocks showing resilience despite the broader market experiencing fluctuations.
