Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index displayed varied movements in its latest closing with notable performances from both gainers and decliners. The index's composition saw significant changes with stocks such as Hyundai Motor and POSCO Holdings making gains, while Taekwang Industrial and SeAH Steel Holdings experienced declines.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Hyundai Motor climbed by 3,000 to reach a closing price of 216,000, and POSCO Holdings increased by the same amount to close at 309,000. On the other hand, Taekwang Industrial saw a significant drop, losing 50,000 to settle at 926,000. SeAH Steel Holdings also faced a decline, shedding 3,700 to finish at 188,300.
Other notable movements included Samsung Electronics, which rose by 800 to 71,900, and Samsung Electronics Mechanical, which saw a substantial increase of 5,100 to close at 162,900. In contrast, LotteChilsung fell by 2,000 to 123,300, and Nongshim decreased by 4,000, ending the day at 376,000.
The list of gainers also featured TCC Steel, which rose by 460 to 20,200, and KAL, which increased by 1,300 to 25,150. Meanwhile, HiteJinro fell by 140 to 19,520, and GS E and C dropped by 430 to close at 18,540.
While the movements were mixed, several stocks ended unchanged, including Lotte at 27,250 and DN Automotive at 25,550. The market's varied performance highlights the ongoing fluctuations within the KOSPI 200 index.
