KOSPI 200 Sees Mixed Movements as Several Stocks Decline

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed mixed movements with several companies experiencing declines in their stock prices. Notably, KorZinc's shares fell by 19,000 to settle at 731,000, while S-Oil and LG Innotek experienced drops of 1,500 and 4,500 respectively, closing at 54,400 and 144,900. Meanwhile, Hyundai WIA and HMM saw their prices decrease by 1,000 and 500, closing at 42,700 and 21,300, respectively.

According to Yonhap News Agency, a few companies managed to buck the trend with positive results. HD Hyundai Mipo's shares rose by 2,300 to 193,500, and Hanchem saw a significant increase of 8,800, ending the day at 133,000. DWS also climbed by 550 to 31,050, and KumhoPetrochem increased by 300, reaching 115,500.

Other notable movements included KEPCO rising by 800 to 30,350, and Hyundai Elevator gaining 900 to close at 75,900. On the contrary, Samsung SDS and SK saw declines of 2,700 and 5,800, ending at 130,200 and 163,700, respectively. Similarly, LOTTE WELLFOOD and HyundaiEng and Const experienced decreases of 3,500 and 3,100, closing at 119,200 and 63,800, respectively.

Despite the declines seen across various companies, several others managed to achieve modest gains. For instance, LOTTE SHOPPING increased by 1,900 to reach 80,600, and PanOcean saw a slight rise of 10, closing at 3,705. In addition, Doosanfc and LG Display experienced increases of 170 and 110, ending the day at 16,820 and 8,610, respectively.

Overall, the KOSPI 200 index reflected a mixed performance as market participants navigated the fluctuating stock prices.
