Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed a day of mixed movements with several notable gains and declines across key sectors. JB Financial Group saw its share price rise by 450 to close at 24,850, reflecting positive investor sentiment. Daewoong Pharm also reported an increase, with its shares closing at 144,200, up by 300.
According to Yonhap News Agency, KDHC experienced a significant decline, closing 2,000 lower at 81,200. On the other hand, Hyundai Department Store and GS both recorded gains, with their prices rising by 1,800 and 200, closing at 79,500 and 46,550, respectively. Misto Holdings similarly saw a rise, with its shares closing at 42,100, up by 200.
LIG Nex1 led the gains with a substantial increase of 6,000, ending the day at 503,000. Hyundai Glovis, however, faced a decline, with a drop of 900 to close at 186,600. Hana Financial Group's shares rose by 600 to finish at 87,700, while Hanwha Life recorded a modest gain, closing at 3,320, up by 10.
In the pharmaceutical sector, Amorepacific's shares rose by 300, ending at 119,900. SK Innovation and Samsung Biologics both experienced gains, each closing 2,000 higher at 108,500 and 1,036,000, respectively. Meanwhile, Poongsan faced a drop, closing at 120,700, down by 900.
Meritz Financial and iM Financial Group recorded declines, with their shares decreasing by 1,000 and 130, closing at 126,800 and 14,210, respectively. Emart and SD Biosensor also saw declines, with their share prices falling by 300 and 90, ending at 76,700 and 10,180.
Hankook Tire and Technology reported a gain, closing at 39,900, up by 500. Kolmar Korea and Chongkundang saw their shares rise, closing at 79,000 and 82,000, up by 600 and 400. In contrast, Doosan experienced a significant decline, falling by 21,000 to close at 623,000.
