KOSPI 200 Sees Mixed Movements with Notable Losses in Major Stocks

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed varied performances among its constituents, with significant declines reported in several major stocks. LG Innotek closed at 231,000, marking a decrease of 9,500. This was mirrored by HANWHA AEROSPACE, which fell by 47,000 to settle at 869,000. Meanwhile, LOTTE CHEMICAL Corp ended the day at 78,000, down by 2,000.

According to Yonhap News Agency, other notable declines included HMM, which dropped by 80 to close at 19,150, and KumhoPetrochem, which decreased by 2,700 to 115,500. Hyundai WIA and ORION also saw reductions, closing at 55,200 and 104,800, respectively. Additionally, WooriFinancialGroup experienced a slight drop of 100, ending at 25,950.

The trading session was not entirely negative, as some stocks experienced gains. HDC HOLDINGS rose by 610 to 17,810, and S-1 increased by 1,100 to 74,500. HYOSUNG TNC and BGF Retail also saw upward movements, closing at 222,000 and 112,500, respectively. Other stocks like IBK and COWAY reported gains, closing at 20,250 and 88,200.

Despite these gains, several other stocks experienced losses. SamsungSecu fell by 2,500 to 77,100, while Hanchem saw a significant decrease of 17,500, closing at 207,000. Nongshim and Shinsegae also reported losses, ending at 464,500 and 228,000, respectively. The session concluded with a mixed performance across the KOSPI 200, reflecting the varied investor sentiment in the market.
