SEOUL: The KOSPI 200 index showed a mixed performance with notable fluctuations in the closing prices of major stocks. On the day, several companies experienced significant price movements while others remained stable.
According to Yonhap News Agency, KorZinc saw a notable decline, with its stock falling by 49,000 to close at 957,000. In contrast, HYUNDAIGLOVIS exhibited a substantial rise, climbing by 15,700 to end at 133,800. Samsung Heavy Industries and HD Hyundai Mipo also saw increases, closing at 11,500 and 134,500, respectively, with modest gains.
Other companies experienced declines, such as LG Innotek, which dropped by 4,500 to 157,500, and LOTTE CHEMICAL Corp, which fell by 2,000 to 57,800. SK hynix also saw a decline, with its stock decreasing by 2,700 to 171,200. Meanwhile, S-Oil's stock remained unchanged, closing at 54,800.
In the financial sector, KB Financial Group rose by 500 to 83,400, while BNK Financial Group increased by 170 to 10,510. IBK and Meritz Financial also saw positive movements, closing at 14,380 and 104,200, respectively. However, CJ and Youngone Corp faced declines, with their stocks dropping by 1,600 and 1,850, respectively.
