KOSPI 200 Sees Mixed Performance with Major Declines and Gains in Key Stocks

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index exhibited a mixed performance, with several key stocks experiencing notable declines while others recorded gains. Among the significant decliners, Samsung Electronics saw its price fall by 1,200 to close at 78,200.

According to Yonhap News Agency, NH Investment and Securities experienced a decrease of 750, closing at 20,500, while Dongwon Industries dropped by 50 to settle at 47,450. Hyundai Engineering and Construction faced a substantial decline, dropping by 3,600 to end at 57,900. Meanwhile, Hanjin KAL and Hanmi Science also recorded decreases, with their prices falling by 200 and 800, respectively.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics saw a decrease of 800, closing at 192,100. In contrast, Hotel Shilla was among the gainers, with its price increasing by 1,600 to 52,500. OCI Holdings and S-Oil also experienced gains, closing up by 2,200 and 200, respectively, while Hanall Biopharma dropped by 200 to 32,200.

Korea Gas Corporation saw a decline of 650, closing at 40,150, and Samsung Fire and Marine Insurance witnessed a significant drop of 15,500, ending at 449,000. LS Electric and Korea Zinc recorded decreases of 5,500 and 14,000, respectively, with Youngone Holdings also declining by 4,100 to 143,600.

Among the gainers, Samsung Heavy Industries increased by 50 to close at 21,550, and HD Hyundai Mipo remained unchanged at 198,700. SK Telecom and Hyundai Elevator saw gains, closing up by 900 and 500, respectively, while Hanwha Solutions and Kumho Petrochemical recorded declines of 100 and 1,600.

Lotte Chemical Corporation and Hyundai Wia experienced gains, closing up by 200 and 100, respectively, while LG Innotek and SKC recorded declines of 6,000 and 2,600. Hanwha Aerospace saw a decrease of 11,000, closing at 1,030,000, and S-1 gained 2,900, ending at 84,800.

DWS and HDC Holdings experienced declines, closing down by 450 and 200, respectively, while Hanwha Chemical dropped by 1,900 to 197,500. KEPCO and Hankook Carbon recorded declines, closing down by 50 and 300, respectively, while Hanon Systems saw a slight increase of 10, closing at 3,335.

SK and Samsung Securities faced declines of 6,000 and 1,000, respectively, with their closing prices at 227,000 and 74,500.
