Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index displayed a mixed performance in its latest trading session, with several key stocks experiencing significant gains. Among the top performers were HD Hyundai Electric, Samsung Biologics, and Hyosung Heavy, which saw substantial increases in their closing prices.
According to Yonhap News Agency, HD Hyundai Electric closed at 417,500, marking an increase of 14,500. This was one of the highest gains in the session. Samsung Biologics also showed a strong performance, with its stock price rising by 22,000 to reach 1,042,000. Similarly, Hyosung Heavy saw a positive movement with a 19,000 increase, closing at 469,000.
Other companies that reported gains included COSMAX, which increased by 15,600 to close at 166,800, and HS Hyosung Advanced, which saw a rise of 2,600, ending at 185,500. Netmarble and DL E and C also performed well, with their stock prices rising by 950 each, closing at 48,650 and 31,300, respectively.
However, not all stocks fared as well. HanjinKal and Krafton experienced declines, with HanjinKal down by 700 to 79,400 and Krafton dropping by 4,500 to close at 331,500. Other stocks like KakaoPay and Hankook and Company also saw decreases, with KakaoPay down by 300 to 27,050 and Hankook and Company falling by 440 to 16,860.
The session highlighted the dynamic nature of the stock market, where gains in certain sectors were counterbalanced by declines in others, reflecting the complex economic environment and investor sentiment.
