KOSPI 200 Sees Mixed Performance with Significant Declines

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index displayed a mixed performance with notable declines across various companies. LOTTE CHEMICAL Corp closed at 57,700, down by 600 points, while HYUNDAI WIA saw a significant drop, closing at 41,000, down by 1,250 points. HANWHA AEROSPACE also experienced a decline, closing at 839,000, down by 2,000 points.

According to Yonhap News Agency, KumhoPetrochem was among the few companies that saw an increase, closing at 110,100, up by 1,000 points. Hanchem also performed well, closing at 128,100 with an increase of 4,100 points. In contrast, Mobis faced a substantial decrease, closing at 249,500, down by 5,500 points.

KEPCO showed a modest increase, closing at 28,400, up by 400 points, while Hyundai Elevator rose by 1,300 points to close at 74,400. SAMSUNG SDS and SK also recorded gains, closing at 132,800 and 138,700, respectively. Conversely, companies like S-1 and SamsungSecu reported declines, closing at 66,300 and 53,500, respectively.

The finance and retail sectors also saw mixed results. IBK closed at 15,310, down by 150 points, whereas SamsungE and A decreased to 19,790, down by 360 points. In the retail segment, LOTTE SHOPPING ended at 74,300, down by 300 points.

Telecommunications companies were not exempt from the downward trend, as SKTelecom and LG Uplus both saw declines, closing at 51,200 and 12,820, respectively. However, KT bucked the trend with an increase, closing at 52,000, up by 600 points.

The technology sector had its share of losses, with notable declines from NAVER and NCsoft, closing at 185,400 and 157,600, respectively. Meanwhile, SAMSUNG LIFE saw a positive outcome, finishing at 89,000, up by 4,700 points.
