Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index closed with a varied performance, as several companies experienced notable gains while others faced declines. Among the most significant changes, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries saw a substantial rise, closing at 315,000, marking an increase of 10,500.
According to Yonhap News Agency, major electronics company Samsung Electronics recorded a strong performance with its shares closing at 57,600, an increase of 2,900. In contrast, Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. saw a decrease, with its stock price falling by 1,000 to 190,400.
Other notable performers included GC Corp, which rose by 2,400 to reach 130,900, and Youngone Corp, which saw an increase of 2,350, closing at 49,600. On the other hand, LS experienced a significant drop, with its shares falling by 8,400 to 121,700.
Among the heavy industries, HYOSUNG HEAVY achieved a notable gain, closing at 475,000, up by 21,000. Meanwhile, HD Hyundai Mipo also saw a rise, with its stock price increasing by 4,300 to 108,000.
In the automotive sector, KIA Corp. experienced a decline, with its shares down by 700, closing at 98,800. Meanwhile, LG Energy Solution faced a decrease, with their stock price dropping by 1,500 to 325,000.
The market also saw Hitejinro increase by 150, ending at 19,420, and Hanwha Systems gaining 3,800 to close at 38,850. Conversely, Doosan faced a decrease of 4,000, closing at 338,000, and KorZinc saw a significant drop of 20,000, closing at 893,000.
