KOSPI 200 Sees Predominant Decline in Thursday’s Trading

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced a significant downturn during Thursday's trading session on the Korea Stock Exchange, with most stocks closing at lower prices. The day saw notable declines across several key companies, reflecting a challenging market atmosphere.

According to Yonhap News Agency, ORION Holdings closed at 16,000 KRW, down by 150 KRW. KCC experienced a decrease of 5,000 KRW, bringing its closing price to 268,000 KRW. SKBP saw a reduction of 2,100 KRW, ending the day at 102,000 KRW. TCC STEEL's shares fell by 1,400 KRW, closing at 24,300 KRW.

HyundaiMtr faced a significant drop of 9,500 KRW, closing at 212,500 KRW. SeAH Steel Holdings experienced a decline of 4,500 KRW, with shares closing at 239,000 KRW. In the food sector, SamyangFood's stock fell by 40,000 KRW, ending at 832,000 KRW. POSCO INTERNATIONAL saw a decrease of 600 KRW, closing at 53,200 KRW.

DOOSAN's shares dropped by 21,000 KRW, ending at 302,500 KRW. KIA CORP. experienced a decline of 3,500 KRW, closing at 97,900 KRW. SK hynix also faced a drop, with shares decreasing by 7,000 KRW to close at 207,000 KRW. POSCO Holdings ended the day at 300,500 KRW, down by 6,500 KRW.

Despite the overall bearish trend, some companies like Shinsegae and Nongshim bucked the trend with increases of 1,200 KRW and 6,000 KRW respectively. SamsungElec also saw a slight rise, closing up by 400 KRW at 61,800 KRW. However, these gains were overshadowed by the widespread declines across the majority of listed companies.
