Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index reflected notable movements in its closing prices, with several key companies experiencing declines. NAVER and NCsoft led the losses, closing down by 12,200 and 3,600 points, respectively.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the technology and telecom sectors faced considerable downturns. SKTelecom closed at 54,800, down by 1,100 points, while Samsung Electronics and NCsoft saw decreases of 2,100 and 3,600 points, respectively. Kakao also experienced a decline, ending at 39,050, a decrease of 1,600 points.
Retail and consumer goods also registered declines. Lotte Shopping's price dropped by 2,100 points to close at 63,000, while Coway and Lotte Wellfood fell by 900 points each. Additionally, KT and LG Uplus saw their prices decrease by 900 and 90 points, respectively.
Conversely, a few companies reported gains. Korea Aerospace increased by 1,100 points, closing at 73,300. In the industrial sector, Hanwha Ocean saw a significant rise, closing at 67,700, up by 5,200 points. Other gainers included KT and G, up by 3,400 points, and Hanmi Semiconductor, which rose by 1,000 points.
Overall, the KOSPI 200 experienced a mixed performance, with substantial declines in several sectors overshadowing gains in others.
