Seoul: Thursday witnessed a varied performance of the KOSPI 200 stocks on the main Korea Stock Exchange, with several companies experiencing upward trends while others saw declines.
According to Yonhap News Agency, notable gains were observed in companies such as Hyundai Heavy Industries, which increased by 9,000 KRW to close at 376,000 KRW, and Hanwha, which rose by 2,050 KRW to 46,600 KRW. Shinsegae also saw a significant rise, closing up by 4,500 KRW at 154,000 KRW. Other notable gains included Hyundai Engineering and Construction, which increased by 1,550 KRW to 40,000 KRW, and Lotte Chilsung, which went up by 1,100 KRW to 108,600 KRW.
Conversely, SK hynix experienced a notable decline, falling by 2,700 KRW to 178,300 KRW. SeAH Steel Holdings decreased by 2,500 KRW, closing at 230,500 KRW, while Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. fell by 5,700 KRW to 184,700 KRW. Other declines included POSCO Holdings, which dropped by 3,000 KRW to 257,000 KRW, and Nongshim, which decreased by 3,500 KRW to 394,000 KRW.
Several stocks remained unchanged, including KG Mobility at 3,260 KRW and Lotte at 22,300 KRW. The mixed performance across different sectors highlights the ongoing variability in market trends.
