KOSPI 200 Stocks See Widespread Gains with Hyundai Motor Leading Surge

Seoul: On Tuesday, the KOSPI 200 stock index witnessed widespread gains, with several stocks closing higher on the main Korea Stock Exchange. Notably, Hyundai Motor emerged as one of the top performers with a significant increase in its share price.

According to Yonhap News Agency, SK hynix recorded a modest increase, closing at 180,600 KRW, up by 400 KRW. Hyundai Engineering and Construction also reported gains, ending the day at 39,500 KRW, marking an increase of 900 KRW. Meanwhile, Samsung Fire and Marine Insurance saw its shares rise by 2,500 KRW, closing at 351,000 KRW.

In the biotechnology sector, Hanall Biopharma's shares climbed by 50 KRW to close at 28,000 KRW. Kogas experienced a notable rise as well, with shares increasing by 900 KRW to 36,650 KRW. However, some companies saw declines, such as Hanwha and CJ, which fell by 700 KRW and 800 KRW, respectively.

LX International, SBHC, and Taihan Electric Wire were among the companies that ended the day on a positive note, with their shares increasing by 300 KRW, 410 KRW, and 100 KRW, respectively. Noteworthy developments also occurred in the insurance sector, with Hyundai Marine and Fire Insurance shares rising by 300 KRW to close at 20,850 KRW.

Daesang and SK Networks both enjoyed gains, while ORION Holdings remained unchanged. Industrial giant KCC saw a rise of 2,000 KRW, closing at 243,000 KRW. SK Biopharmaceuticals, TCC Steel, and Lotte Chilsung also closed higher.

Hyundai Motor was a standout performer, with its shares surging by 7,700 KRW to reach 187,000 KRW. Miwon Commercial and SeAH Steel Holdings also posted gains, with increases of 4,700 KRW and 4,000 KRW, respectively.

In the food sector, Samyang Food recorded a rise of 3,000 KRW to close at 923,000 KRW. POSCO International and CJ CheilJedang also experienced upward movements in their share prices. Taekwang Industrial saw a significant rise of 5,000 KRW, closing at 683,000 KRW.

Conversely, KAL and POSCO Future M faced declines, while LG Corp. and LOTTE Fine Chemicals reported gains. Hyundai Steel, Shinsegae, and Nongshim also ended the day with increased share prices.

Hankook and Company, KIA Corp., and Doosan Robotics were among the companies that saw their shares rise, with Doosan Robotics experiencing a notable increase of 4,150 KRW to close at 51,800 KRW. The stock market's performance reflects a day of widespread gains for many companies on the KOSPI 200 index.
