Seoul: The KOSPI 200 stock index displayed varied results with notable gains and losses among its listed companies. The index saw significant upward movements in several companies, while others experienced declines.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. recorded the most substantial increase, with its shares rising by 5,700 to close at 204,000. This was followed by LG Innotek, which saw an increase of 3,800, bringing its closing price to 167,800. POSCO Holdings also exhibited a strong performance, with its shares climbing by 3,500 to reach 285,000.
On the other hand, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries faced a notable decline, with its price dropping by 7,000 to 510,000. HDKSOE and KPIC also experienced significant losses, with their shares decreasing by 6,500 and 3,600 respectively.
Other companies such as Samsung Electronics and SKC observed increases of 2,000 and 2,700 respectively. Meanwhile, LS saw a decrease of 1,100, and SKC's shares rose to 104,100. Among retailers, GS Retail posted a gain of 280, closing at 16,660.
The trading session highlighted the diverse performance of companies within the KOSPI 200, reflecting varying market conditions and investor sentiments across different sectors.
