Seoul: The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM) have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at promoting regulatory reform and enhancing bilateral trade between South Korea and the United States. This collaboration was formalized through a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed by both parties.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the agreement outlines a cooperative effort to advance the U.S.-Korea economic partnership. A joint working-level committee will be established to identify and recommend necessary regulatory improvements. Additionally, the organizations plan to co-host briefings, exhibitions, and export consultations while seeking new opportunities to expand trade and investment between the two nations.
KOTRA's Chief Executive Officer, Kang Kyung-sung, expressed hope that this partnership with AMCHAM will provide significant support for Korean small and medium-sized enterprises aiming to enter the U.S. market. James Kim, chairman and CEO of AMCHAM, emphasized that the partnership is a crucial step in reducing non-tariff barriers and solidifying South Korea's role as a leading regional business hub.
