New york: The soundtrack for Netflix’s animated film “KPop Demon Hunters” has achieved a remarkable feat by reaching No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 albums chart. This milestone further underscores the global appeal of the film and its music.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the album not only topped the Billboard 200 but also dominated Billboard’s Hot 100 main singles chart. The achievement was highlighted in Billboard’s preview released on Sunday, U.S. time, revealing that the album climbed one spot to reach the top position in its 12th week since release, surpassing Sabrina Carpenter’s “Man’s Best Friend.”
The soundtrack includes the track “Golden,” which has maintained its position at the top of the Hot 100 chart for four consecutive weeks. Billboard noted that “KPop Demon Hunters” is the first animation soundtrack to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in over three years, following the success of “Encanto” in 2022.
After debuting at No. 8 in late June, the “Demon Hunters” soundtrack has steadily risen on the chart alongside the growing popularity of the film. It spent a total of seven nonconsecutive weeks in the No. 2 position before finally ascending to No. 1 for the first time this week.
