Late Actress Kim Sae-ron’s Family Sues YouTuber for Defamation Over False Claims

Seoul: The family of late actress Kim Sae-ron has taken legal action against a YouTuber, accusing him of defamation for allegedly spreading false information. Bu Ji-seok, the attorney representing Kim's family, has filed a formal complaint with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, targeting Lee Jin-ho, who operates the YouTube channel Behind Master.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the complaint arises from Lee's ongoing posts concerning Kim since her DUI incident in 2022. Kim's family asserts that Lee falsely accused her of pretending to be actor Kim Soo-hyun's girlfriend after she posted a photo with him on social media. The family, dissatisfied with these allegations, intends to pursue additional complaints related to other videos Lee has shared.

Kim Sae-ron, who passed away at the age of 24 in her home in eastern Seoul on February 16, has been the subject of renewed public attention. Recently, the YouTube channel Hoverlab claimed, through a telephone interview with her family, that Kim had been in a relationship with Kim Soo-hyun for six years, beginning when she was 15. Initially, the actor's agency denied these claims but subsequently confirmed that they were romantically involved for about a year after Kim became an adult.
