Lawyers of Former President Yoon Accuse Security Officials of Misconduct Over Phone Records

Seoul: Lawyers of former President Yoon Suk Yeol on Thursday filed a complaint with the prosecution against senior presidential security officials, accusing them of illegitimately handing over Yoon's secure phone records to police.

According to Yonhap News Agency, last month, police seized cell phones of Yoon and the phone server records of the Presidential Security Service (PSS) for the first time since Yoon's short-lived martial law bid. The lawyers of Yoon claimed that the phone records submitted to police by the PSS were classified information.

They also argued that such phone records require a process to unlock the confidential information and approval from the head of the presidential archives before they are disclosed.
