Seoul: President Lee Jae-myung on Friday appointed a former vice finance minister, Kim Yong-beom, as his presidential chief of staff for policy, the presidential office said. Kim has an extensive background, having served in various capacities at the finance ministry and the financial regulator since entering public service in 1987.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Ha Joon-kyung, a professor at Seoul's Hanyang University, was appointed as senior presidential secretary for economic growth. This announcement was made by Lee's chief of staff, Kang Hoon-sik, during a briefing with reporters. The appointments are part of President Lee's strategy to strengthen his administration's economic team with experienced individuals.
