Incheon: President Lee Jae Myung met with individuals who fled from North Korea to South Korea during the 1950-53 Korean War, marking the first day of the extended Chuseok holiday. The encounter occurred at the Ganghwa Peace Observatory in Incheon, where President Lee offered his sympathies to the families and wished them a warm holiday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the meeting included a visit to a lookout point at the observatory, where President Lee and the refugees gazed toward North Korea and captured photos together. The presidential office revealed that President Lee intends to use the weeklong holiday to rest and prepare for upcoming engagements.
President Lee is also preparing for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, scheduled to take place in Gyeongju on October 31 and November 1. Additionally, he is set to appear on a television cooking show on Sunday, aiming to introduce his favorite Korean foods and promote them.
