Seoul: President Lee Jae Myung met with religious leaders Wednesday and emphasized their role in fostering unity amid growing social and political divisions. Lee had a luncheon with 11 leaders from various faiths, including Buddhist monks, Catholic priests and church leaders at the presidential office. The meeting came two days after his separate meeting with Cardinal Lazzaro You Heung-sik.
According to Yonhap News Agency, President Lee expressed his concerns about the excessive division, confrontation, and conflict within society. He highlighted that although there have been some signs of reconciliation, the future political landscape remains unpredictable. Lee stressed the crucial role that religious leaders can play in promoting unity and bridging societal divides.
