Hanoi: LG CNS Co., an information technology affiliate of South Korea's LG Electronics Inc., announced it has signed an agreement to establish an artificial intelligence (AI) data center in Vietnam.
According to Yonhap News Agency, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed with Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) and Korea Investment Real Asset Management Co. This agreement was finalized on the sidelines of the Korea-Vietnam Business Forum, hosted by the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), during a state visit by Vietnam's top leader, To Lam.
Under the terms of the agreement, the three companies will collaborate to develop a hyperscale data center in the Southeast Asian nation. They plan to form a working group to enhance cooperation in data center infrastructure, covering aspects such as servers, storage, and network systems.
LG CNS will also work with VNPT in smart engineering sectors, focusing on areas like smart factories and logistics. VNPT, a state-owned telecom company, has a business range that includes telecommunications services, cloud computing, and smart city solutions.
