Riyadh: LG Electronics Inc., South Korea's leading home appliance maker, has announced a partnership with Saudi Arabia to develop advanced heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) solutions specifically designed for regions experiencing extreme heat.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the collaboration involves a joint research project with Saudi Arabia's Shaker Group and researchers from King Saud University in Riyadh and Pusan National University in Busan, Korea. The goal is to create HVAC technologies that maintain high efficiency and performance even in extremely high temperatures.
As part of this initiative, LG Electronics will supply system air conditioners for both commercial and residential use in Saudi Arabia, with installation and operation managed by Shaker Group. A key feature of the project is the testing of LG's AI-powered engine, which enhances energy efficiency by automatically adjusting air conditioning settings in response to temperature changes.
"This collaboration will serve as an opportunity for us to further strengthen our capabilities in HVAC solutions tailored for extremely hot regions," an LG Electronics official stated. The company aims to enhance its technological competitiveness in the global HVAC market by systematically developing research and development infrastructure tailored to different climate zones.
