Seoul: South Korean tech giant LG Electronics Inc. announced a significant supply agreement with U.S. construction company Century Communities Inc. to deliver its artificial intelligence (AI) home appliances for newly constructed homes.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the agreement entails LG Electronics supplying a range of energy-efficient AI home appliances, including refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, and ovens, through 2029. The company highlighted that a specialized team will be tasked with customizing and providing appliances tailored to the specific housing structures and geographical locations.
LG Electronics also stated its commitment to supplying products with Energy Star certifications and integrating the LG ThinQ AI platform. This initiative aims to optimize energy efficiency and smart home technology integration.
This latest deal is the second of its kind for LG Electronics, following a previous agreement with Lennar Corp., another prominent U.S. housing construction company, secured last year. Jung Kyu-hwang, head of LG Electronics' North American operations, emphasized that this collaboration will reinforce the company's presence in the business-to-business sector for home appliances in the U.S.
