LIG Nex1 Unveils Naval Weaponry at Colombiamar 2025

Cartagena: LIG Nex1 Co., a South Korean manufacturer specializing in precision-guided missiles and weaponry, announced its participation in Colombiamar 2025, an international naval exhibition currently taking place in Colombia.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Colombiamar is a biennial event hosted by the Colombian Navy and Colombia's state-owned shipbuilder Cotecmar. The exhibition aims to promote technological and informational exchanges to advance the shipbuilding and defense industries.

During this year's three-day event, which began on Wednesday, LIG Nex1 showcased its advanced naval guided weapons, including the C-Star anti-ship missile and the Blue Shark light torpedo. The company also intends to host a special event honoring Colombian veterans of the Korean War and their families.

To strengthen South Korea's footprint in the Latin American defense market, LIG Nex1 is collaborating with South Korean shipbuilder HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. at the exhibition. "Through the exhibition, we aim to spearhead the global expansion of Korean defense products while focusing on ongoing military modernization efforts in Colombia and other Latin American countries," an LIG Nex1 official stated.
