Singapore: Lotte Mart, a discount store chain under South Korean retailer Lotte Shopping, announced its entry into the Singaporean market with a range of Korean food items and its private brand (PB) products. The company revealed that it has opened its first outlet in Singapore, Lotte Mart Express, as a shop-in-shop within NTUC FairPrice, the largest retail chain in the country.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the new outlet includes a space designed for customers to prepare and enjoy Lotte's ready-to-cook products, such as tteokbokki and ramyeon. This strategic move allows customers in Singapore to experience Korean cuisine conveniently.
Lotte Mart's PB products, along with popular items from its affiliates, are set to be available at approximately 100 FairPrice stores throughout Singapore. This expansion is part of Lotte Mart's broader strategy to increase its international presence. Currently, Lotte Mart operates 111 outlets in South Korea, 48 in Indonesia, and 15 in Vietnam.
