SEOUL: Lotte Shopping Co. on Thursday disclosed a substantial decline in its third-quarter net income, registering a profit of 28.9 billion won (approximately US$20.7 million), marking a decrease of 53.3 percent compared to the same period last year.According to Yonhap News Agency, Lotte Shopping's operating income for the July-September quarter rose by 9.1 percent from the previous year, reaching 155 billion won. However, sales during this period fell by 4.6 percent, totaling 3.56 trillion won. The company's earnings did not meet market expectations, as analysts had projected an average net profit of 40 billion won based on a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data division of Yonhap News Agency.
