Main Flames of COEX Exhibition Center Fire Contained Without Casualties

Seoul: The main flames of a fire at the COEX exhibition center in southern Seoul have been contained, firefighting officials said Friday, amid no report of casualties. The fire broke out inside a restaurant on the second floor of the exhibition center, prompting a swift response from emergency services shortly after 11 a.m.

According to Yonhap News Agency, more than 120 personnel and 33 fire engines were dispatched to the scene, successfully bringing the main flames under control around 11:40. As black smoke filled the exhibition center and billowed out into the surrounding neighborhood, people evacuated the building to ensure safety.

Authorities have announced that police will conduct an investigation to determine the cause of the fire once it is completely extinguished.
