MATRADE DONATES RM100,000 TO CINTA GAZA MALAYSIA

KUALA LUMPUR, The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) today presented a donation of RM100,000 to the non-governmental organisation (NGO), Persatuan Cinta Gaza Malaysia.

MATRADE chairman Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican said the donation was collected from MATRADE employees, fellow exporters and also members of the board of directors.

"This is not the only time, God willing, we will continue because as long as the Palestinian people need help, and their suffering has not ended, we will continue the initiative to help (even though) I can only do it in my capacity at MATRADE.

"I'm very lucky to be joined and supported by my board members," he told reporters after the Palestine Humanitarian Fund Donation Presentation Ceremony as a sign of support for the Palestinian people, especially in Gaza.

Earlier in his speech, he said all these efforts are a sign of humanitarian solidarity towards the Muslim brothers in Palestine who are suffering.

"Let's come together to support this noble cause. Hopefully, with this donation, we can help ease the sufferings of the Palestinian people," he said.

MATRADE Palestinian Humanitarian Fund was launched on Oct 20, 2023 which was inspired by its chief executive officer, Datuk Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz.

Mohd Mustafa said MATRADE hopes that the sincere donation can help reduce the suffering of the Palestinian people.
