Exposure to community arts and culture from the cities of Nanning (China) and Medan (Indonesia) is one of the exciting features of the Nusantara Cultural Festival and Classic Car Exhibition, held in conjunction with the 35th anniversary of the city of Ipoh, which runs from June 8 to 12.
The festival, to take place at the Indera Mulia Stadium here, is held with the aim, among other things, to promote unity among the residents of Ipoh.
“It will also enliven the celebration of 2023 Visit Ipoh Year by showcasing community arts and culture programmes involving various ethnicities in the archipelago as well as participation of local authorities (PBT) such as Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), Seremban City Council (MBS) and Melaka Historic City Council (MBMB),” said the Ipoh City Council (MBI) in a statement.
Besides the participation of Gema Warisan Budaya MBI, Kumpulan Gerakan Seni Alam of Ipoh and Jas Dhol Bhangra Group of Ipoh, food and beverage sales will also be offered throughout the programme, presented by Rohaizad Setia Trading, from 10 am to 11 pm.
“This festival also includes children’s playground games, a carousel, a haunted house and a petting zoo.
“A classic car exhibition will also be held on June 10, involving 20 different types of vintage cars, with participants from home and abroad,” it said.
On June 12, the Perak government will engage with its customers on Meet Customers Day, from 2 pm to 5 pm.
