Musk Announces Samsung to Manufacture Tesla’s AI6 Chip at Texas Plant

Austin: Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Inc., has announced that Samsung Electronics will produce Tesla's next-generation AI6 chip at its semiconductor plant in Texas. Musk shared this significant development on his social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, emphasizing the strategic importance of this partnership.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Musk also mentioned that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), which has just completed the design phase, will initially produce the AI5 chip in Taiwan. This collaboration with TSMC marks a crucial step in Tesla's chip development process.

Additionally, Musk stated that Samsung, which is currently responsible for manufacturing Tesla's AI4 chip, has agreed to cooperate with Tesla to enhance manufacturing efficiency. This partnership aims to optimize the production process for the AI6 chip.

Tesla's AI6 chip is designed to be versatile. It is small enough to be used in humanoid robots and self-driving cars while being powerful enough to support artificial intelligence data centers. This scalability underscores Tesla's ambition to integrate AI technology across various applications.
