N. Korea Accused of Perpetuating Russia-Ukraine War, Bears Responsibility: State Dept.

Washington: North Korea and other third countries have been accused of "perpetuating" the Russia-Ukraine conflict and are said to "bear responsibility," according to a spokesperson from the State Department. This statement was made public on Sunday, shortly after Pyongyang acknowledged for the first time that it has deployed troops to Russia.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the State Department spokesperson reiterated calls for North Korea to cease its troop deployment and urged Russia to halt any form of support to North Korea. The spokesperson emphasized that countries like North Korea, referred to as the DPRK (Democratic People's Republic of Korea), have played a role in prolonging the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

The official expressed ongoing concerns about North Korea's direct involvement in the Russia-Ukraine war. They highlighted that the DPRK's military deployment to Russia, along with any reciprocal support from Russia to North Korea, must come to an end.

Furthermore, the spokesperson pointed out that Russia's training of North Korean soldiers is in violation of several U.N. Security Council resolutions. These resolutions collectively prohibit the provision or receipt of military training or assistance involving North Korea.
