Busan: North Korea has criticized Britain for sending warships to South Korea's port in Busan, labeling it a "war expedition." The criticism came from the North's state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) following the docking of two Royal Navy warships, RFA Tidespring and HMS Richmond, at the Busan port last week.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the port visit is part of the Royal Navy's Indo-Pacific-focused deployment, known as Operation Highmast. The deployment is set to continue with the HMS Prince of Wales, a British aircraft carrier, scheduled to conduct an aerial capability demonstration in South Korean waters in September.
The KCNA has condemned the deployment, stating that it represents a war expedition that will exacerbate the security situation on the Korean Peninsula and the surrounding region. Furthermore, the KCNA accused London of executing its plans for military intervention in the Asia-Pacific, cautioning that it will not end in "a delightful journey."
