Daegu: The National Fire Agency (NFA) has issued an emergency response order to mobilize national personnel and equipment to tackle a rapidly spreading fire in Daegu, officials confirmed.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the emergency directive was put in place approximately two hours following the fire's outbreak at around 2 p.m. on Mount Hamji. The fire is advancing towards nearby villages in the southeastern city, which is located about 230 kilometers from Seoul.
In response to the situation, fire authorities have deployed 28 fire engines to assist in extinguishing the blaze. Although no casualties have been reported, residents in proximity to the fire have been advised to evacuate to local elementary schools for safety.
