‘Parole Examiner Lee’ Promises Thrilling David-vs-Goliath Battle.

Seoul: TvN's upcoming drama "Parole Examiner Lee" will offer viewers a sense of justice and satisfaction with its David-versus-Goliath storyline, its director said Monday.According to Yonhap News Agency, director Yoon Sang-ho expressed his immediate attraction to the series simply from its title, admitting his initial ignorance about the existence of the parole examiner role. The script's ability to bring characters to life and establish strong connections and dynamics was a major factor in his decision to work on the project. The drama centers around lawyer-turned-parole examiner Lee Han-shin, portrayed by Go Soo, who is determined to prevent the release of dangerous convicts. Feeling constrained in his solo efforts, he partners with ace detective Ahn Seo-yoon, played by Kwon Yu-ri. Together, they join forces with notorious loan shark Choi Hwa-ran, played by Baek Ji-won, to confront a common adversary: chaebol heir Ji Myeong-seob, portrayed by Lee Hak-joo.To accurately depict the parole examiner profess ion, the production team meticulously designed the parole review room, with actor Go Soo delivering a noteworthy performance in this setting, filled with numerous lines, according to Yoon. The emphasis was on crafting an engaging narrative with vibrant and well-developed characters, with script revisions continuing up to the last moment to ensure the best possible ensemble.Actor Go noted that the drama presents a heavy plotline involving convicts in a lighthearted manner. His character, Lee Han-shin, is portrayed not as a hero but as an imperfect individual who evolves into a modern-day David, battling against Goliath.Kwon Yu-ri, transitioning from a K-pop singer to an actress, saw this role as an exciting chance to explore the action genre. She found the story intriguing and was eager to engage with the action sequences, which were new to her, while also being curious about the ensemble cast. The 12-part series is scheduled for release next Monday.
