Seoul: Prime Minister Kim Min-seok has issued a directive for the government to take immediate action to correct an error on Google Maps that mislabels a museum as a memorial for North Korea's founder, Kim Il-sung, according to his office.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the mistake involves the Dokdo Museum on Ulleung Island, located off South Korea's east coast, being incorrectly labeled as the "Kim Il-sung Memorial Hall (Annex)" on Google Maps. This error prompted Prime Minister Kim to instruct the ministries of education, foreign affairs, and oceans and fisheries to address the issue promptly.
The prime minister also mandated that these ministries express the government's "strong regret" over the mislabeling and investigate the cause of the mistake. Furthermore, he emphasized the need to "strongly request" that Google take measures to prevent such errors from happening again in the future.
