Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin has informed North Korean leader Kim Jong-un about his upcoming meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump during a phone call, as reported by a news outlet. This discussion comes amidst ongoing efforts by Moscow and Pyongyang to strengthen their security collaboration.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the Kremlin press service announced the phone call, which was reported by Russia's TASS news agency. The upcoming talks between Trump and Putin are scheduled to take place in Anchorage, Alaska, focusing on strategies to stop the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

During the call, the Kremlin conveyed that Putin shared details with Kim regarding his upcoming discussions with Trump. Additionally, Putin acknowledged the support provided by Pyongyang in Russia's western front-line Kursk region, commending the efforts of North Korean soldiers.

The discussion highlighted the North's contribution of troops to assist Moscow's military endeavors against Ukraine. This call further emphasizes the robust military and diplomatic ties between Russia and North Korea, in accordance with the "comprehensive strategic partnership" treaty established during a summit in Pyongyang in June of the previous year.
